Assam Minor Girl Sold In Arunachal, 3 Arrested

A minor girl from Assam's Tezpur was rescued by Sonitpur police on Sunday who was trafficked and sold to an agent in Arunachal Pradesh for Rs 1 lakh.

The minor girl (13) was rescued from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh. She had been missing since August 2021.

A team Sonitpur Police Led by SI (UB) Jafir Hussain successfully recovered the minor girl from Poruwa under Tezpur PS.

Three persons have been arrested in connection to it. They were identified as Pravin Khandwal, Sumi Khandwal and Dul Baruah.

Cash amount of Rs 48,000 was also recovered from their possession.

Reportedly, the minor victim was trafficked by Sumi in connivance with Dul Baruah.

Further investigation to nab the other members of the racket, police said.
