Assam Police Arrests 14 People for Allegedly Supporting Taliban

Assam Police on Saturday arrested 14 persons for allegedly posting objectionable, adverse posts in social media supporting Taliban.

Police arrested the supporters from 10 districts of the state. The alleged supporters also include three Maulanas and an MBBS student of Tezpur Medical College. The medical student belongs from Hailakandi who is pursuing MBBS from Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.

According to reports, assam police have also received information on another three persons who is staying Abroad.

The arrested persons are Maulana Fazul Karim from Darrang district, Abu Bakkar Siddique from Kamrup (R), Saidul Haque from Kamrup (R), Jawed Mazumder from Cachar, Mozidul Islam from Barpeta, Faruk Hussain Khan from Barpeta, Saiyad Ahmed from Dhubri, Arman Hussain from Dhubri, Nadim Akhtar from Hailakandi, Khandakar Nur Alom from South Salmara, Maulana Yaseen Khan from Goalpara, Maulana Basiruddin Laskar from Hojai, Mujib Uddin from Karimganj and Mortuza Hussain Khan from Karimganj.
