Assam crossed 18000 mark of coronavirus infection after 859 new cases have been detected on Tuesday night. Out of 859, 627 patients have been detected from Guwahati itself, informed state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through his twitter handle.

With the new cases, the total number of infected patients climbed to 18666 with 6444 active cases while 12173 patients have recovered.

Meanwhile, 46 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus in the state.
