Assam Rifles seize drugs worth Rs 1.70 crore in Manipur

In another significant success of the Assam Rifles, one drugs smuggler was apprehended on Monday in Manipur.

He was carrying Heroin and World Is Yours (WIY) tablets worth Rs 1.70 crore.

A press statement issued by the Inspector General, Assam Rifles (South) said that the smuggler was apprehended during a frisking at Khudengthabi. The tablets were found in a four-wheeler coming from Moreh to Imphal.

The statement further said that 230 grams of Heroin and 11,000 WIY tablets were found hidden inside the toolkit bag of the driver of the vehicle.

The apprehended person along with the recovered items has been handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation.
