Contrasting views were voiced by political parties in thestate on the results of various exit polls for 2019 Lok Sabha elections thatpredicted the return of the NDA government at the centre.

Addressing a press conference in Rajiv Bhawan, Assam PradeshCongress Committee (APCC) member Durga Das Boro straightly said that these exitpolls are unbelievable. The numbers will give fodder to the media for next twodays. We will wait for the real poll results that will be out on May 23.

According to him, the Congress party will sweep the LokSabha elections with a huge margin.

Congress said that these polls seem to have been designed topromote the Modi government, while the BJP said the these polls only reflectedwhat opinion polls had already said.

BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma confidently said that the NDAwould win over half the state's seats. The exit polls show the people's supportto Modi and BJP. According to state BJP, the NDA will cross the half-way markout of the 542 Lok Sabha seats.
