Assam on Tuesday registered 347 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the active caseload to 2,644. The positivity rate of the state has reached 0.81 per cent.

The new cases have been detected out of 42,670 Covid-19 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. Three Covid-19 fatalities were reported today, while, 235 cured cases were discharged.

The districts with the highest cases were Kamrup Metro (162), Jorhat (26), Barpeta (25), and Lakhimpur (18).

The total recoveries of the state have touched 5,99,262 with a recovery rate of 98.36 per cent.

Meanwhile, Covid-related fatalities in the state have reached 5,981 with a death rate of 0.98 per cent.

The overall case tally of the state as of today remains 6,09,262.
