Assam | Social Media Foils ISIS ‘Massive Attack’: ADGP

Reacting on the arrest of the three youths suspected to be ISIS, Additional DGP Mukesh Agarwal said that social media helps them in finding the link.

He said thatthe youths were active in social media and that they also admitted that theywere planning a bomb blast at the Raas festival in Goalpara.

Agarwal further stated that they also received information on collecting materials to prepare the bombs. Police are also finding information on whether they have any link with other groups as well.

Agarwal further informed that the youths are being interrogated as to how they have involved with ISIS. It has also been informed that the youths have been taken into 12 days of custody and police are hopeful that they will receive more information during the interrogation process.

The AdditionalDGP also said that the police are keeping an eye on every district.

Meanwhile,Congress MLA, Rekibuddin Ahmed said that if the youths are actually involvedwith the ISIS, then they should be fired.

Ahmed stated that the state home department should wake up and ISIS reached Goalpara when the home department was sleeping.
