The Assam government will send back seven Burmese individuals back to Myanmar on Thursday who have been in detention at Silchar in Cachar District of Barak Valley.

"Seven Myanmarese nationals lodged in Silchar will be deported on October 4. The travel permits have come. The deportation will take place via Moreh [a border town] in Manipur," the Indian Express reported quoting a senior government official.

The seven foreigners apprehended were Rohingya Muslims and have been in a detention camp at Silchar Central Jail since 2012.

According to reports, 32 such foreigners Myanmar are living in Assam's detention camps which also include these seven individuals.

Meanwhile, an application has been moved in the Supreme Court which is hearing a PIL against deportation of Rohingyas against the decision to deport these seven persons.

The Centre has asked the states to identity Rohingya 'illegal immigrants' for deportation.
