Assam is likely to face a severe power crisis soon as Oil India Limited has cancelled supply of gas to Assam Gas Based Power Plant of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) in Bakuloni under Dibrugarh district.

The functioning of the Assam Gas Based Power Plant has come to a halt after the cancellation of gas supply to the plant.

Beside Assam, other six States in the region are also likely to get affected by the crisis.
