In a first, a divisional women cricket match was held at Barshapara Cricket Stadium on Monday. The Assam women's cricket team will be selected based on this match.

The tournament is named after Martyr Kankalata Baruah.

Women cricketers from all districts of the state competed in the tournament. The players were divided into three groups.

The competition will conclude on February 14.
