Dr MalineeGoswami has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Assam Women'sUniversity in Jorhat. She was the head of the department of Assamese at GauhatiUniversity.

It maybe mentioned here that the university has celebrated its 6th foundation day onWednesday. It was also headed by a Mentor since its inception.

Theappointment has been long overdue with the university which celebrated its 6thfoundation day on Wednesday being headed by a Mentor since its inception. KMBujarbaruah, the VC of Assam Agricultural University had been the mentor tillJuly this year.
