Assam’s COVID-19 death toll mounts to 115 with 6 more fatalities

Assam recorded six more coronavirus related deaths on Tuesday, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed. The death tally has risen to 115 now.

Through his Twitter handle, Sarma said, "Six more #COVID patients have succumbed to their infections today~ Late Sradhona Sarkar (72) of Jorhat; Late Pranab Saikia (43) & Late Aarati Limbu (60) of Tinsukia; Late Manik Sarkar (48) & Late Bhaban Likson (48) of Dibrugarh and Late Sajal Acharjee (63) of Sonitpur".

Meanwhile,  Assam also completed the highest number of COVID-19 tests in a single day. In this connection, the minister said, "In pursuit of our commitment to contain COVID 19 infections in our state, today we have completed 59,064 number of tests. By far, this is the highest number of tests we have achieved in a single day. For the next ten days, we will continue with massive testing across the state".
