The Government at the centre awards Assam's Panchayat and Rural Development  department (P&RD) in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Gramin in the state.

P&RD has got seven awards from the Centre. Assam is conferred the best state award in the category of completion of PMAY-G houses amongst the Group I states consisting of North East and Himalayan states.

The state has also bagged best three awards in district and block level.

Kamrup, Dhemaji and Goalpara districts have received best three positions in North East while three blocks have also been selected for awards . The award distribution ceremony will be held on next Monday in New Delhi.
