Assam’s Rodali Wins Gold In Taekwondo

Assam girl Rodali Barua has won gold in the secondIndian Open International Taekwondo Championship in Hyderabad. Players from 25countries took part in the tournament, which was held at GMC BalayogiInternational Stadium at Hyderabad's Gachibowli.

Previously, she participated in the World TaekwondoChampionships in Korea in June 2017 and also won gold medal at the 35thNational Senior Kyorugi and 8th National Senior Pumche Taekwondo Championshipsheld at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

It may be mentioned here that Rodali Barua and Dipika Hazarika from Assam were selected to represent India at the World Taekwondo Championship in Manchester. But, they could not participate in the tournament due to issues related with their visa.

Rodali hails from Tezpur and is the daughter of Anupam Barua and Runa Barua. She has been participating in taekwondo events since she was in the 8th standard.
