ASTEC Fellowship for Pratidin Time Journalist

Pratidin Time Political Editor Nayan Pratim Kumar has been selected for the State Level Media Fellowship program on 'Climate Change Reporting' under the Assam science technology and environment council, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Assam.

Applications were invited for "Fellowship on Climate Change Reporting" for a duration of 6 months with a remuneration of Rs. 15,000/- per month under Climate Cell of Environment Division, ASTE Council, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Assam with an objective to create awareness and sensitize people on issues related to weather, climate change and their probable impacts on livelihood and adaptability by publishing articles/reports or broadcasting documentaries/audio-visuals fortnightly or at least eight (8) such programs during the fellowship tenure.

The journalists who received the 'media fellowship' are Nayan Pratim Kumar (Kamrup), Arup shandilya (Kamrup) and Dhruba Jyoti Baruah (Waiting) (Jorhat).
They will receive a sum of Rs 90,000 in installment to support their travel and research.

The Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) was set up in the year 1987 under the Science & Technology Department (then Science Technology and Environment Department) of Government of Assam.
