Baghjan Blowout: Platoon bridge’s construction completes, debris cleared

The ongoing work on the Pontoon bridge over the natural pondnear the Baghjan oil well number 5 site at Tinsukia in Assam has been completedon Saturday night.

After completion of the construction of the platoon bridge, heavy earth-moving vehicles reached near the well site to clear the area of any debris.

The Indian Army was requested by Oil India Limited (OIL) to build the bridge. The Army is a part of a multi-agency effort to cap the well constructed the bridge for an alternative route for the experts to reach the well and control the fire. The experts will be able to approach the fire from both sides; one from the site of the explosion and the other from the side of the wetland.
