Balajied Synrem of UDP Wins From Shella

Balajied Synrem, United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from Shella Assembly constituency won the election with a margin of 6,221 votes.

The nearestcompetitor, Grace Mary Kharpuri, an independent candidate has accumulated 5,162 votes while Synrem has tallied 10586 votes (Election Commission of Indiafigures).

It maybe mentioned here that the UDP candidate, who is also the son of departed UDPleader Donkupar Roy is also being supported by the ruling National People'sParty (NPP) who have not fielded any candidates.
