Balot paper recovered at Lumding press

Tension prevailed prior to Dima Hasao Autonomous Council  on Thursday after balot papers and stamps were recovered from a press in Lumding. Two independent candidates of Dima Hasao's Hatikhali  recovered  the balot papers and stamps from 'Bindu Press' in Lumding.

A case has been filed after the incident at the Lumding Police Station. The Lumding police have already arrested one worker of the press and has started probe of the incident.

There has been allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker  Sanpo Campri of being linked with the incident. Campri is a close associate of 15 no Hatikhali's BJP candidate Kulendra Daulagupu.

Voting in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Dima Hasao district of Assam will be take place on January 19 across 280 polling stations between 7 am to 3 pm.
