Basistha PS SI Tests COVID-19 Positive

The Sub-Inspector of Basistha Police Station has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. The SI Deepjyoti Ingti was suffering from fever and headache. His wife has also tested positive of the virus.

Ingti was admitted to Sonapur COVID-19 Hospital.

Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Assam (Law & Order) GP Singh said that 726 Assam Police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus infection as of date out of which 350 have recovered.

Singh in a tweet said, "We've unfortunately lost one colleague till date. 778 Cops are under quarantine while 20 have rejoined duty".
