Biren Baishya demands 4th Unit of BVFCL

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) MP Birendra Prasad Baishya on Thursday raised the issue of starting the fourth unit of Namrup Fertilizer Plant in the Rajya Sabha.

MP Baishya demanded that the fourth unit of the Brahmaputra ValleyFertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) should be started soon saying that theonly fertilizer plant in Assam, Northeast, Bihar and East India is completelybackward.

Baishya also demanded that the electricity, gas and railwayconnectivity should also be improved in the Northeastern region.

The MP further stated that the Namrup fertilizer plant should be madefunctional not only for the development of Assam and Northeast but it shouldalso be developed so that it could meet the demands of the South-East Asiancountries as well.
