The Karbi Anglong Police on Thursdaymorning arrested a BJP leader in connection with a kidnapping case. The arrestedleader has been identified as Tapan Teran.

Acting on a tip off, a team ofKarbi Anglong Police carried a search operation in Howraghat area in the weehours of Thursday to rescue a businessman identified as Bijay Agarwal. The businessmanwas kidnapped from Dokmoka area by a group of miscreants on September 13.

Along with BJP leader Teran, policealso arrested two more in connection with the case. They allegedly demanded aransom of Rs. 20 lakhs from Agarwal's family.
