COVID-19 : BJP State President urges people to go for voluntary testing

State BJP President, Ranjit Kumar Das, held a press meet on Wednesday. He urged people to go for voluntary swab tests for COVID-19, and also added that he has done swab tests for himself as well as his family members. He revealed that his escort has also tested positive, and at the same time, thanked the ones who have cooperated with the government despite facing the pandemic-induced struggles.

In the meet, he also thanked PM, Modi for extending benefits to India's farmers. He said that Assam will receive Rupees 2236 crores, and 58 lakh families of the state will benefit from it. Every month, they will receive 5 kgs of rice and 1 kg of dal. He also said that some political parties were doing politics even in such critical times. Das added that Maharashtra, despite having a non-BJP government, has extended the lockdown till July 31. The BJP President also said that PR campaigns will be halted in the flood affected regions for the time being.
