BJP’s Rupjyoti Kurmi Leads With 16,959 Votes In Mariani

The much-awaited and talked constituency Mariani where BJP's candidate Rupjyoti Kurmi earlier won the Assam Assembly elections from Congress party is again leading on Tuesday's by-polls counting as a BJP candidate.

It has almost become sure that the Bharatiya Janata Party will be taking over all 5 constituencies in Assam.

The third round has ended in Mariani and Rupjyoti Kurmi is reportedly leading there with a total of 16,959 votes.

The opposition Congress party has received 6422 votes whereas Raijor Dal has received 3496 votes.

It needs to be mentioned that the people of Assam have been eyeing the results of Thowra and Mariani constituencies the most and the counting has been taking an interesting turn in both the constituencies.

The BJP with candidate Sushanta Borgohain is leading even after the sixth round in the Thowra constituency with a total of 13,567 votes.
