Black flags to PM; AJYCP members, GU students detained

Several members of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) have been detained in Guwahati. The members have been detained by Guwahati Police, while they tried to wave black flags at the Prime Minister's convoy, when it was heading towards LGBI Airport.

The detainees have been identified as Pradip Kalita, Krishna Rai and Inamul Haque. The protesters tried to wave black flags at the PM near Machkhowa area, when police nabbed them.

Police have also detained five students of Gauhati University including the Vice President of Gauhati University Students' Union (GUSU), when they tried to wave black flags at PM Modi at 7 Mile near the university.

It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Guwahati on Friday evening to take part in several programmes in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and in Tripura on Saturday. AASU, KMSS and other organisations also waved black flags at the Prime Minister during his way to Raj Bhawan from the LGBI Airport in Guwahati last evening.
