Authorities are investigating a dead body found in a pit near Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI Airport) on Monday morning, as per reports.

Police said the identity of the deceased person and circumstances of their death were not yet known.

The body of the 45-year-old man has been discovered along the side of Guwahati-Goalpara road.

"The man has not yet been formally identified. A police investigation has been launched into the case": Police said.
