Brahmaputra Board needs to be strengthened: Union MoS for Water Resources

Union Minister of State for Water Resources Arjun Ram Meghwal, while interacting with officials of the Brahmaputra Board in Guwahati, stressed on the need to strengthen the Board.

The minister said that the Board must accept its weaknesses if any and try to minimise it. He also reviewed the activities and works undertaken by the board and discussed about various issues related to the organisation.

"Flood control is one of the top priority areas for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and water management is the priority of the Northeast as well as the Central government" Meghwal said.

He also assured the officials about restructuring the board and also to fill up the vacant posts very soon.
