The swollenBrahmaputra River in Darrang district has breached the embankment constructedat Kuruwa area on Wednesday.

Theflood triggered by the incessant rain breached the embankment, resulting ininundation of the human settlements.

It maybe mentioned here that the Kuruwa area under Sipajhar was under the seriousthreat of erosion from the Brahmaputra River.
