Brown Sugar Seized from Assam Youths

Tripura police on Thursday apprehended two youths who hails from Karimganj in Assam and seized brown sugar worth Rs. 50 lakhs.

The youths have been identified as Bilal Ahmed (26) and Jahrul Islam (27) who belongs from Kacharghat village of Patharkandi. They have carried brown sugar with them and were later apprehended by police.

Police said that the youths have brought the brown sugar to sale to a particular person and as per the information we were trying to apprehend them since three days. "We have seized four packets which contain 13 gm in each packet and in the international market it costs around Rs. 1crore per kg," said the police official. Police also seized one bike with No AS-11G-0240.
