Budget 2020 Disappoints Northeast: Ripun Bora

Reacting on the budget 2020 placed by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on Saturday, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora said the budget is the most disappointing in the era of Independent India.

Thebudget has disappointed the Northeast as the budget has not included anythingfor unemployment, said Bora. He also said that the budget has nothing on theeconomic culture.

TheBJP government has taken the country towards privatization.

Welcomingthe decision of listing Sivasagar among five sites which would be developed,Bora raised question as to why the government has not emphasized on Majuli. He said,"The government has also neglected the flood and erosion problem of the state."

Healso welcomed the steps taken to develop the inland water transport but isdoubtful if it will only be limited in the budget. He said, the saffron partyhad also given such assurances earlier but it was not fulfilled.
