With cases of burglary becoming common with each passing day, an instance of theft stirs sensation in the Hatigaon area of Guwahati.

The burglary had taken place in road No.02 of Basistapur at a journalist's residence on late Sunday night.

According to reports, after breaking in the house, the burglar had used a sharp weapon to scare the owner to take away money along with several valuables.

It may be mentioned here that the place, where the crime took place, is located just opposite the Hatigaon Police Station.

It is a matter of concern that at a time when Police patrolling duty was on, a crime as such had taken place in the city.
