Pratidin Bureau

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) will organize a mass agitation 'Braja Ninad' in protest against the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Guwahati on Wednesday. Besides AASU, 30 other organisations of the State will also take part in the protest at the Latasil playground.

Meanwhile, Assam heart-throb Zubeen Garg also extended his support to the mass agitation and asked the people as well as his fans to take part in the protest. Zubeen also informed that he himself will take part in the programme.

The AASU and other 30 organisations have also urged the all communities of Assam and intelligentsia to wholeheartedly extend cooperation in the series of protests. AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi informed Pratidin Time that they are organising the protest rally so that Narendra Modi-led BJP government in the Centre refrain from passing the Bill in the Rajya Sabha in the coming session of the Parliament from January 31.

Notably, various organizations and people across the State have been continuously staging protests against the Bill. According to reports, the city police are fully prepared and ready to prevent any untoward incidents from happening during the rally on Wednesday.
