Campaigning for second phase of panchyat election ends

The voting for second and last phase of panchayat elections in the remaining 10 districts of Assam will held on Sunday. Campaigning for last phase of elections ended at 4 PM on Friday with all the star campaigners, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressing campaign rallies for their party candidates.

The Chief Minister Sonowal addressed four poll rallies in Nalbari as well as in Barpeta districts. AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal addressed a rally at Hojai. Former Assam CM and senior AGP leader Prafulla Kumar Mahanta also addressed rallies at Goalpara.

Meanwhile, re-elections were also held in several polling stations across the State where anomalies were reported during the first phase of voting on Wednesday.

The counting of votes will begin at 8 PM on December 12.
