A case has been filed against Gauhati High Courts Senior Advocate and president of All Cachar-Karimganj-Hailakandi Students' Association (ACKHSA), Pradip Dutta Roy for his provocative statements against the students of Assam regarding Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The case has been filed by Durnitibirudhi Oikya Mancha at Golaghat police station.

Dutta on Friday, threatened the Assamese students studying at the Assam University, Silchar for protesting against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The manch demanded immediate arrest of Roy for his provocative statements.

It is to be mentioned that Pradip Dutta urged the Vice Chancellor of the Assam University to take action against the students. "You have come here to study, please continue to do that. Do not dare to enter into the politics. We have got the Assam University after lot of struggle and you can not oppose CAB from here"
