Cattle laden trucks seized in Morigaon

The cattle syndicate in the stateseems like a never-ending process. Several reports have been published andpolice and concerned authorities are being aware of the fact that cattle arebeing smuggled on a daily basis, but the syndicate is still on the rise.

In a recent case, five trucks have been seized carrying as many as 140 cattle at Dharamtul area in Morigaon district on Saturday night. The trucks were seized in an operation by Morigaon police under the leadership of DSP Luit Talukdar.

"We have seized five truckscarrying cattle from Lakhimpur and Nagaon district. The drivers were unable toprovide proper documents against their possession," said a Morigaon policeofficer.

Police also apprehended 12 peoplefor interrogation.
