Chaos in Jorhat DC office After employee Tests Covid19+

As many as 8 new cases reported in Jorhat district. Reportedly, one grade IV employee, of Jorhat DC office, namely Jitumoni Sharma, had tested positive for Covid-19. Hence, the building to the east of the main DC office building has been declared a containment zone. The building houses are Bakijai, Land Acquisition, and NRC branches.

As per reports, All employees of the said branches have been asked to remain in-home quarantine and will be tested. Further contact tracing is going on.

Cases have been lodged under u/s 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, 51(b) of the Disaster Management Act 2005, and 188 IPC against Manas Dutta and Leemashree Baruah for organising a marriage ceremony that violated government orders on COVID-19 norms.
