In a tensed situation, public staged a protest after gheraoing Gauripur's Daobhangi Police Station on Wednesday night.

The protestors alleged the police of harassing innocent people on the basis of fake accusations. The allegations have been made against Police Official Ajijul Haque Mandal.

Accordingto reports, the official detained one, identified as Mafijul Ali, on allegationsof cow theft.

It hasbeen alleged that the police physically tortured Ali. However, after taking anamount of Rupees 8000, the police released the detainee.
