Chirang: Another victim of rising rape-murder cases

In a gruesome incident, a half-naked body of a 25 year old woman with blood all around has been recovered in Chirang's Indo-Bhutan bordering area. The incident occurred in Deosri forest under the Ranikhata police station and the local residents have alleged that it is an instance of brutal rape and murder.

On the other hand, miscreants attempted to murder yet another woman belonging to the same village on the same night. However, surviving the attempt, the critically injured woman has been admitted to the hospital.

It may be noted that two similar horrific incident on the same night and with instances of similar cases on the rise since a few days has raised brows of concern in the area.

The apprehended prime accused in the rape and murder of the 25 year old, who has been identified as Kisun Murmu was thrashed by the local residents.

Now, the accused is in the custody of the Shantipur Police.
