Chirang: One Injured in Firing at India-Bhutan border

In yet another incident, a person was injured after a Forest Protection Force fired at him at India-Bhutan border at Chirang district. The incident took place at Runikhata Chirang Reserve Forest when a person was allegedly cutting trees.

The person has been identified as Lama Charan Narzary (35). According to the forest protection force, he was cutting trees illegally at the reserve forest.

He is now under treatment at JSB Civil Hospital at Kajalgaon. The forest officials also seized a tree-cutting machine from the spot.

Following the incident, heated situation aroused in the area.
