CM orders inquiry into Kopili incident

Five days after the incident that took place in KopiliHydel Project of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation's (NEEPCO) in Umngsu,Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday directed an inquiry. The CMhas asked DIG of South Assam Division PK Dutta to carry out the investigation.

The CM has also asked Minister Sum Ronghang to visitthe accident site with a high-powered team to take stock of the situation. The teamincluded MP Haren Sing Bay, MLA BB Hagjer, Dr. Nomal Momin, CEM of Dima HasoAutonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa.

It may be mentioned here that CM today held a meeting with the officers of NEEPCO and asked them to take remedial steps to avert the recurrence of such incidents.
