CM Sonowal felicitate girls from Tea Estates who Received Scholarships To Study In AUW, Bangladesh

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday felicitated Sonali Karketta and Bandana Pator from Dikom Tea Estate and Pallavi Das Panika from Hokonguri Tea Estate at his residence in Dibrugarh.

These young talents from Assam's tea estates, after bringing laurels to their families and localities following their amazing performances in the Higher Secondary exams of 2018, were selected to pursue higher education at the prestigious Asian University for Women (AUW) in Bangladesh's Chittagong.

Sonali Kerkatta and Bandana Pator secured scholarships to study in the prestigious university following motivating efforts from Indian Tea Association and Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha.

Both the girls received scholarships worth USD 75,000 for five years to pursue their higher education.

Apart from these two, Pallavi Das Panikai from Hokonguri tea estate in Tinsukia district also received a five year scholarship to study in the prestigious women only institute.
