CM Sonowal reviews progress of Protection of Majuli Island from flood & erosion project

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday reviewed progress of Protection of Majuli Island from flood & erosion project with senior officials of Brahmaputra Board, Water Resource Department (WRD) and contractors in the river island.

CM Sonowal directed officials to complete the works within stipulated time frame in the meet.

Among other things discussed in the meet, the CM also directed officials of Brahmaputra Board and WRD to prepare a comprehensive action plan for development of Nimati Ghat, which serves as a focal point of connectivity to the river island Majuli.

On Thursday evening, the CM also met representatives of various organisations and local residents at Circuit House, Majuli. Interacting with them, CM took stock of various issues and sought people's suggestions in addressing them and to further improve Government services.
