Congress-AIUDF mutual understanding baseless: Ripun

Pratidin Bureau

Reacting to AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal's allegation, AssamCongress leader Ripun Bora on Saturday said that there was no mutualunderstanding between Congress and AIUDF for the recently concluded Lok Sabhaelections and it was completely baseless.

Speaking to Pratidin Time in Delhi after Congress' Parliamentary Committee meeting Bora said, "The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee had decided not to come to an alliance with Ajmal's AIUDF for the Lok Sabha elections. And we had informed our decision to the high commands." He further added, "I don't know why Ajmal is referring it as a shock but his allegations are completely baseless."

It may be mentioned here that AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal on Friday alleged that the results of the Lok Sabha elections have given him a 'Jhatka' (shock) and that the Congress has stabbed him from the front for which they have to stick to one seat instead of three.
