Congress cannot win alone: Ripun Bora

AssamPradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Ripun Bora today stated that it hasdecided not to contest any candidate for Rajya Sabha election as Congresscannot win alone.

Addressinga press conference today, the APCC President said that the party has acceptedthe public's verdict adding that the plight of the Congress party is in badshape.

RipunBora also wrote to Congress President Rahul Gandhi taking moral responsibilityfor the party that the party has not been able to increase its previous tallyof three seats and also asked Gandhi that he might replace him.

Boraalso stated that they were thinking of a candidate from the opposition who hadraised voice against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Commenting on CAB, Bora saidthat it failed to impact the poll outcome but the party will continue toprotest against any anti-public decisions taken by the government.  

Boraalso requested Rahul Gandhi to replace him and that he will take theresponsibility as a President until and unless new President will take thecharge, he will continue in his post as the President.

Talkingabout former MP Dwijen Sarma, Bora said, "I have not emphasized on what Sarmahad said but I have emphasized on what I did. They have not even helped tobring a single vote by sitting in their house. I don't know how much they lovethe party."
