Congress pulls up socks for Assembly polls in Mizoram

Congress being in power only in Mizoram in the northeastern region, is holding a series of party meetings from Wednesday to sketch out strategy for the Assembly polls in the state.

The Congress has been in power since 2008 in Mizoram. After the BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014, the Congress has lost Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam and Meghalaya, and has been eradicated from Tripura and Nagaland.

According to reports, the AICC Secretary In-charge of Mizoram, Bhupen Kumar Borah, will meet Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla and other PCC leaders on Wednesday over formation of various committees under election, manifesto, publicity and social media heads. This will be followed by a meeting with the frontal heads.
