Corona Warrior: Police Constable of Darrang Dies

Upen Deka of Darrang died of COVID-19 today, making him the first police constable of Darrang to have died of the contagion.

The 50-year-old, who was detected with the virus on July 29, was initially moved to Mangaldoi Civil Hospital before finally being shifted to GMCH for advanced treatment upon deterioration of his health.

Deka had joined Assam Police in 1991.
