COVID-19: Assam Loses 8 Lives in One Day

Three more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in Assam today, taking today's death count to 8. All three were admitted at GMCH. The patients had severe pneumonia and were on invasive ventilation.

This takes the total death toll in the state to 38.  

This has been informed by Assam's Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma by a tweet. He tweeted, "Sad & anguished to inform that 3 #COVID patients – Sri Ashok Jain (63) of Athgaon, Sri Vinod Kumar (47) of Jalukbari & Mrs Dipali Dutta (65) of Sarumataria admitted at GMCH succumbed to their infection today. They had severe pnuemonia & were on invasive ventilation."

Earlier in the day, Assam lost 5 more lives. While four were admitted at GMCH, one succumbed to the deadly contagion at the IIT Guwahati COVID Care Centre.
