COVID-19: Lakhimpur Posts 57 New Cases In a Day

COVID-19 situation has turned quite serious in Lakhimpur. A lot of positive cases have sprung up in the district in a short time.

Within 24 hours, 57 fresh cases have been reported in the district.

In the Kamalabari area of North Lakhimpur alone, 28 people have been infected by the deadly contagion.

The tally of infected people in the district has climbed to 312.

191 patients are under treatment.

Like Lakhimpur, the pandemic is spreading rapidly in few other districts too.

Kamrup Metro, one of the worst hit districts, has been under complete lockdown for more than 10 days now.

Jorhat Administration announced an extension of the lockdown in its municipal and sub-urban areas which will remain in effect until further notice.

Dibrugarh, similarly, is heading towards quite an alarming scenario. Community transmission is suspected to have begun in the district.
