COVID-19 recovered cases cross 25,000 in Assam

Assam recorded 1362 COVID-19 recoveries on Monday evening pushing the overall tally of cured cases in the state to 25402.

As the state confirmed 1348 new COVID cases yesterday, the active cases have climbed to 8085. Guwahati continues to report the highest number of COVID cases with 155 in a single day.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "A total of 21742 tests were done in the last 24 hours. Our low positivity rate of 6.19% is encouraging".

Presently, the total positive cases registered so far in the state are 33576. The state also confirmed two more deaths due to COVID taking the death toll to 86.
