Cyclone Fani: Stranded Assam pilgrims soon to reach Guwahati

With thecontinuous effort of the government of Assam, a group of 34 pilgrims from Assam'sNalbari district has been safely brought to Kolkata from Cyclone Fani affectedOdisha's Puri. The Assam government is making arrangements to bring them toGuwahati as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, two persons out of a group of 18 pilgrims from Baihata Chariali have also reached Kolkata from Odisha's Puri and as per government source; they are also being brought to Guwahati.

On the other hand, the remaining 16 pilgrims of Baihata Chariali are still in Puri as they have expressed their willingness to stay back at Puri, when contacted.
