Darrang: Minor Girl Rescued, Kidnapper Apprehended

The Darrang Police had rescued a minor girl who has been kidnapped on Sunday night. As per reports, the police have also successfully apprehended the kidnapper in this case.

The Police carried out the operation last night where they rescued the minor girl after receiving a complaint from the parents of the victim on Sunday noon.

According to reports, the victim belongs to an underprivileged section of the society.

The search operation took almost eight hours, after which the darrang police was able to capture 20-year-old Makbul Ali, son of Mister Ali and a resident of Chapai Saloipara in Mangaldai.

The police held the kidnapper from a hideout and rescued the minor from his captivity.

Darrang superintendent of police Sushanta Biswa Sarma said, "Mangaldai Police has registered a case (No 254 /2021) under section 366 of IPC in this connection and further legal proceedings is on."

Aqccording to the police, the accused kidnapped the minor with an intention to forcibly marry her.

The rescue of the girl child and arrest of the culprit by the Darrang Police has been hailed by local child organization Crystal Vision and the people associated with child protection of the district, said reports.
